Brave New World REVISITED

7 years ago:
The  word 'economy' was used by political spokespersons as the blanket excuse for layoffs, cutbacks and the suspension of once-guaranteed revenue, decreed most often by those who have the means to provide security for the rest of us who live paycheck to paycheck by working for them. Factory workers, the backbone, backbreaking industry of manufacturing mills from steel to coal to uranium on the stolen hills paying off future generations as name of the game thru casino cash flow, brinks truck bankroll, the last remaining pork barrel gimp covert operation left involves, as always, the flow of water up and down the central farm belt where the workforce that causes such controversy 8 years later has their roots and has provided California vineyards are a viable commodity, and avocadoes are good for your heart.
High speed rail, real estate swindlers, ranchers, commandoes, tourist cash cows, revitalizing nostalgic places and giving rolling waves of inter-generational experience to rebuild the thing that everyone seems to find elusive but that seems so obvious to me, perhaps because I see it in the actor, I know it from my innate (and completely undesired) propensity to be good at the political read, charismatic enough to convince, smart enough to know that it's a joke, dumb enough to believe I could do anything else but whatever it is that ends up keeping me alive from year to year, so far, it's been a memorable, yet incalculable, journey which has lead to a breather, filled with sadness and joy, in a balancing act on a row boat, floating along, looking for dinner, but fine if coconuts are all you get, because you have landed on an oasis, which has a time frame, a time you design, that is the new drug, the virtual reality head set that leads you to your ideal paradigm of virtue, secret guilty pleasures with no consequence because within the virtual helmet, there is a built in safe come down not crash landing like in life, opposite of Road Runner cartoons, which are part of the middle section as the montage for dreams of flying and those who seek sensory depravation get to prove they won't flip out (I might, same reason I have no need to sky dive unless it's one of those things that i have 24 hours left to live quizzes, fly to Paris, eat that crazy poisonous fish, go sky diving and if that doesn't kill you, take ecstasy and go to Prague and somewhere there's gonna have to be an end or an extension line for limbo, depending on whether the prison industrial complex is over-filled that day or not. So in the end, it's all part-crap-shoot, part-attempt to be in alignment with the 51% good that alights, over the 49% evil that lurks, knowing that there is no perfection and adjusting for that. The  money back guarantee terms and condition seem to change over time but there is a little leeway for forgiveness, I am not sure where this comes from only that I have been the beneficiary of it and for that I am practicing conscious gratitude as well as I can so that serves for today's dose.

Life
so they say
is but a game
and they let it
slip away
Love
like the autumn sun
should be dying
but
it's only
just begun

Always talk of 18-34 as the only 'market' that matters. Iexpression in favor of flavor-of-the-month trends that place us in easily-identifiable boxes: hipster, fashion-phobic, noveau riche chic as generic stamps of approval.

If you can supply a service, again, that people can afford and that will make their lives a little bit easier, you will have job security. They only care about their own bottom lines.

We take back our manifest destiny, as a nation that is more good than bad, that stands for what is human, the defense of liberty, fairness and justice. We stand by those principles, in theory, and yet, the very backbone of our survival, the companies that keep us alive, are backing out and running scared. Hire people. Find something we need and make it. Put your best people on it.

Dreams so they say
are for the fools
