Of Safety Nets and a Nation of Lost Industries

Capitol Report: Unemployment safety net under stress - MarketWatch

I thought Mr. Obama would be more effective, but, alas, he is decent (if not particularly inspired, but very newspeak-friendly) orator of nothingness: he seems be saying something grandiose but really says nothing of true meaning to the average American. I am not sure what our leaders stand for anymore, our country seems to have begun its full descent into a free-for-all of chaos, manipulation, complacency, self-interest, corruption bleeding into abuse of power, and a diatribe of drivel.

We need real-time solutions, not layers of bureaucracy and "breaking news" infomercials about how the government can save our homes. We need those who have the means to be creative with their resources, create jobs and design solutions with those of us who are ready and willing to participate in saving this place. Not to mention our supposed principles that we all say we will fight for, come hell or high water.

Like this: what the hell does this really mean: "The historic movement to bring real, meaningful health insurance reform to the American people gathered momentum this week as we approach the final days of this debate," Obama said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet video address.
