"Last week I toured the Conard Environmental Research Area in central Iowa. where I came upon one of Andy Goldsworthy's prairie cairns, all the more delightful as a found object since I had no idea it was there before I saw it. The cairn was built of stacked (no cement) Iowa limestone in 2001-2002 and is considered temporary but will probably last dozens of years."

And I will add, what we have lost, our prairies, part of our American soul.
